Picnic Lunch on Tooting Bec Common :)

The sun has finally decided to grace us with it's presence - so let's make the most of it and have a picnic lunch on Tooting Bec Common :)

So for those of you  that are homeworkers, shift workers, mums or free during the afternoon for whatever reason - come along!

The plan is to have a relaxed lunch/afternoon on the Common and then de-camp to the LONG ROOM BAR BEER GARDEN later on; there's a separate meetup event posted for the Long Room Bar part of the day - so only RSVP here for the picnic part of the day & if you'll be joining us for drinks later then RSVP again/separately for the Long Room meetup pls.  It's a short walk from Tooting Bec Common to the Long Room Bar.

Let's hope the sun comes out for us on the day!

You can either bring some food/drink along with you or you can buy something from the Cafe on the Common (more info below).  Bring something to sit on, as the cafe seating is limited so we'll be sat on the grass most probably.

About the the Cafe:

Nestled on the edge of the common is the historic Victorian park building that is now home to our café. Close to the children's play area our family friendly café offers traditional ice cream, a wide range of hot and cold drinks, snack and meals and home cooked freshly prepared specials daily.

For generations Tooting Bec Common has been a meeting place for the people in the area. It is an excellent place to relax, admire the local wildlife or have lunch in the cafe. In the warmer months the common plays host to regular festivals, community events and music concerts.

We'll be camped opposite/near the cafe on Tooting Bec Common - see map/weblink below; the cafe is marked by a red dot around the middle of the map and the directions of Tooting Bec & Balham tube stations are also marked on the map (on the left hand side of the page).

The sun came out for us! We had a lazy afternoon on the Common - chatting & getting to know each other & Julian even played some tunes for us on his guitar - was a really nice afternoon.
We'll try to do another one soon.

Sun's just come out to play on the Common so the Picnic is on :)
Wear something warm or layers though and bring something to sit on (and a brolley for later on!)
We'll be sat opp the cafe from 2-3pm atleast, then we'll play it by ear (eg we may go for a walk/move around the Common etc) - so if you're joining us be there before 3pm

In case rain stops play on Friday then the picnic will be cancelled - in which case we'll post a message on the event page & email the attendees by about 1pm on Friday - so please check the event page/your emails before heading off to meet us.
Hopefully it won't come to that though, fingers crossed!

I've updated the event page for what to bring & how to find us details.
We won't be giving out a number or responding to meetup messages on the day of the event - please don't contact us for directions - the meetup point is clear - if you're not familiar with the area then cross-check the above map to a streetmap before you meet us.
As long as you arrive on time we'll be where we've said we'll be!
Please do change your RSVP if you can no longer make it, so we know who to look out for.
    See you soon!
