Political progressives are a dynamic and diverse group. While we share many basic principles like tolerance, compassion, reason, and equal rights we tend to be fragmented by ideological passions. We are Democrats, free thinkers, Christians for social justice, Skeptics, peace activists, environmentalists, advocates for the poor, economic liberals, science oriented, or just anti-conservative.

While the peace activist might be sympathetic to the science minded person’s concerns, she concentrates her efforts on ending the needless suffering caused by war. A Democrat may take issue with a fellow progressive critical of Obama for capitulating on an important issue. A religious progressive might be troubled by a fellow progressive's fight against school prayer.

This group is an interlink between these various progressives designed to expand the power of all progressives.
