There is something special about Bootleggers karaoke.
As we know, I have been promoting the idea of singing in Spanish by learning songs that have versions in both English and Spanish. The advantage to this approach is that you can go to any karaoke bar, even one that has only English songs, and still sing in Spanish.
To be fair, the place that I have been taking us to, Nanta, does indeed have Spanish songs , but they are only a couple of dozen songs out of about 7000.
Many English-only karaoke bars get by with[masked] songs. Even with that amount of songs it is still fairly certain that the customers will be able to find a song they can sing.
What is special about Bootleggers? Well, for one thing, they have more than 15,000 songs.
...And in these 15,000 songs, they have about 1000 in Spanish. ...!
That means that they have about as many songs in Spanish as some karaoke bars have in English.
This is the only bar in Calgary that I know of, about which you can make this statement.
If you can sing in Spanish, and you find the English-Spanish version approach limiting, this may be the bar for you.
Please come see what I am talking about.
