There are six meetings in the near future. The first will take place on
Thursday, February 7th, at 7:00pm, at Caffe Rosso, 425 11 Avenue SE. The second will take place on
Wednesday, February 13th, at 7:00pm, at Pines Pub in the Pineridge Community Centre, 6024 Rundlehorn Dr NE, Calgary, AB. The third will take place on
Thursday, February 21st, at 8:30pm, at Bootlegger's Sports Bar and Karaoke Lounge, 3444 32 Av NE. The fourth will take place on
Sunday, March 10th, at 12:30pm, at CEREZO, 1002 Edmonton Trail NE. The fifth will take place on
Thursday, March 14th, at 7:00pm, at Good Earth Cafe, 1502 11th St SW. The sixth will take place on
Sunday, March 24th, at 12:30pm, at Yamato Dessert Cafe, 1322 Centre St NE.
These are 3, 9, 17, 34, 38 and 48 days from now.

Note that the meeting on Wednesday, February 13th, is at the Pines Pub in the Pineridge Community Centre. I really like the atmosphere at this location. It is
cosy, and cheap, and it is open late. I am wondering if any of us know of a location
like this, but not so remote. The cosiness and cheapness may be caused by its
remoteness, so I may be dreaming. Please send me your suggestions for locations to
Note that the event on Thursday, February 21st, is at Bootlegger's Sports Bar and Karaoke Lounge. As we know, I have been promoting the idea of singing in Spanish by
learning songs that have versions in both English and Spanish. The advantage to
this approach is that you can go to any karaoke bar, even one that has only
English songs, and still sing in Spanish.
What is special about Bootleggers? Well, for one thing, they have more than 15,000 songs.
...And in these 15,000 songs, they have about 1000 in Spanish. ...! That means that
they have about as many songs in Spanish as some karaoke bars have in
English. This is the only bar in Calgary that I know of, about which you can make
If you can sing in Spanish, and you find the English-Spanish version approach limiting, this may be the bar for you.
