Vicki and Becky, I was going to come tonight but I have an extra couple of children I'm watching so I won't be able to make it. I'll make sure to be there next week :)
¡Saludos a todos! ¿Estarâ ok si llega como una hora a una hora y media tarde? No sé en que tipo de formato es el encuentro, pero no salgo trabajo hasta 7pm. Gracias por su respuesta. Bendiciones, Emily

Taking another crochet class. I'll be back in a few weeks.
A change in reading assignment. We will discuss pages 17-24 of "En el Tiempo de las Mariposas" at our April 10 meetup. The discussion will be from 7pm-8pm each meetup until the book's completion.

<<<Club de lectores>>>> ... is in the works and our first book will be, "En el Tiempo de las Mariposas", by Julia Alvarez. For anyone interested, we will discuss a selected book each week from 7pm - 8pm until the book's completion. Our first discussion will be April 10 and cover pages 17-33. The book takes place in the Dominican Republic under the dictatorship of Rafael "el Jefe" Trujillo (1930 - 1960), the most oppressive, ruthless, and feared dictator in all the history of Latina America.
The "Butterflies" was the code name for the Mirabal sisters that were instrumental in the underground movement to free the Dominicans from Trujillo's tyranny. The Mirabal sisters along with countless others fought for freedom and change in-spite of the on-going threat of being captured, imprisoned, tortured, and killed.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
