A friend sent me a link
I will be going to Spain in early fall but haven't been to any Spanish speaking country to date (unless you count family reunions of my youth in California) where as the day went on the use of Spanish and the volume rose.
All 4 grandparents were from Andalucia in Spain. My dad was born there. I heard Spanish as a child, took 4 years of Spanish in high school and 2 quarters in college and became pretty fluent. However, I haven't spoken the language in a while and have forgotten a lot. Fortunately, much of what I have forgotten seems to be coming back rapidly as I watch the Annenberg Foundation series, "Destinos" which is designed to emphasize comprehension and conversation. My ability to understand (ex a telenovella is pretty good) unless the dialogue is rapid fire, but conversationally I have to grasp for words.
Hola Rudy, My name is Cyndi Wolfe. (Maiden name - Lozano.) Like most second generation Americans, English was my first language. I would love to renew my conversational Spanish and meet like-minded amigos.
