Hi Will,

You could ask feedback from Angeles who teaches Spanish privately, She well attend the meetings at the Papover. I do not as I spent most of the Sundays with my children.

Thank you for giving me the name of the Arubian language. I had forgotten it.  I do not like it  myself.

Ciao Esilda

Esilda,

Most of my friends in Aruba speak Papiamento, Spanish, English, and Dutch.  I have some friends at Pizza Bob's (the best pizza on the planet) and they are Colombian.  So I have a blast.  I can also understand some Papiamento, but I really don't like it - and the cadence is sort of like Portugese.  It is an amalgum- with a bunch of English woirds thrown into the mix. Sort of sounds like Puerto Rican Spanish with a smathering of English words.  Again, thanks for the continued correspondence.

I am self-taught in Spanish, so I'm a little self-conscious.  But my South American friends say it sounds fine....I have no perspective.

I am surprised that one may practice Spanish In Aruba.Local people do not speak Spanish, but their own dialect, a
mixture of a few languages. It is true that they are trained to be multilingual to catch the money of the tourists coming from all over the world.
It is a good place to relax.
Ciao. Esilda

Albert,

I have yet to make an invitation, but I appreciate your continued correspondence.  I am off to Aruba again tomorrow where I routinely practice my Spanish.
