Why are you interested in speaking Spanish?
My first, practical interest is that I plan to study Latin American politics on the graduate level, and believe I'll need the language skills to do so in the capacity in which I prefer. Second, I've come to love the culture and language of Latin America, and I want to speak the language to better appreciate that culture I've come to love.
Would you please post a recognizable photo of yourself? (This is a requirement for this Meetup.)

I am not. I have studied independently for about 2 years now. I can read pretty well, but have trouble listening and hearing the language.
