Cleveland Spanish Language Meetup Message Board › Cool town hall Friday at CSU
I got this in an email. Thought it might appeal to some of you, especially fellow teachers or those who have a family member with a learning disability.
I LOVE the Shaywitzes! They were on the Professional Advisory Board when I worked at the National Center for Learning Disabilities in NYC. I still use a quote Sally said at a meeting to describe learning disabilities, as I think it really sums things up nicely. She said LD "is an unexpected weakness in a sea of strength." I love how empowering that is, and have used it with students who were talking about how "stupid" they felt.
I'm hoping to go, but I may be late as I have an appointment downtown.
