December Dinner Meeting

Hello again, everyone. Our December Dinner Meeting will be on Tuesday night, December 15, at 7:00 pm at San Jose Mexican Restaurant on Piney Grove Rd. There will be plenty of good food, and you can speak as much or as little Spanish as you like. All knowledge/skill levels are welcome. For the first time ever, the Spanish Club and the Hispanic Professionals will have a joint meeting (with the Hispanic Professionals meeting at around 6:45 pm). This should provide a wonderful opportunity for intermediate or advanced Spanish students to learn by immersion in a friendly social setting. If you're a beginner, don't worry. There will be learning activities of some sort for you as well; and details of those will be provided in a later e-mail announcement.

If you have ideas for club activities (for learning or for fun or both), feel free to share them with the group. Remember that it's YOUR Spanish club and that "general members" are just as important as the Organizer and the Assistant Organizers in making the club better than it already is. We will have a program that is fun, educational, and pressure-free. If there are any specific topics (in grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, etc.) you'd like to learn more about, please e-mail them to me before the meeting. I know that people of different skill levels need help in different areas. We look forward to seeing you all soon. :)

It was the best meeting yet. Members of the Hispanic Professionals Group came and shared about culture and language and how to learn more Spanish. Special prizes were given in a trivia game and Spanish scripts were read with explanations of the meanings of various dialogs.

This was very fun and educational, especially since the meeting was led by a native speaker this time. I learned a great deal about the Spanish language and culture.
