Thank you for the information!

Life is too short to not to step outside your "box"

Hola a todos:

I'm actually emailing about several things.

1.  Many new people have joined the group and are interested in learning Spanish, or improving their Spanish.  I am planning to start offering classes again in April (for a fee).  I also wanted to pass on this resource for some independent practice.  The video series "Destinos" is a soap opera type series that was designed for Spanish learners.  Here is a link where you can view the series.  (There are 52 episodes).

2.  Being in the Spanish Meetup Group is free; however, I do pay a yearly fee to maintain the site.  Contributions of $5.00 per year are appreciated.  This can be paid to me directly at the meetups or online through paypal or amazon payments.  (If paying online, there is a link when you are logged into the site on the left hand of the page that says "contributions".)

3.  I received an email from Carolyn Koncal with the Mother Angeline McCrory Manor Nursing Home on the East side of Columbus.  Currently they are looking for Spanish speaking volunteers who can come in on a regular basis to visit with some of the residents who speak Spanish.  You do not have to have perfect fluency, but being able to express yourself in Spanish is ideal.  There are currently 3 residents who are Spanish speakers.  They all speak English as well, but apparently are "regressing" back to just speaking Spanish.  If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact Carolyn Koncall at:  [masked] or by email at [address removed]

(I do not have any further information other than what I have posted here, so please be in touch with Carolyn directly if interested).

4.  The upcoming Wednesday meetup will be at Plaza Tapatia on the west side.  (4233 Shoppers Lane).  Please RSVP on the site if you will be attending.

Thanks!

Jenny
