Come to discover and celebrate the great Latin American authors! biggrin

Are you head over heels in love with Hispanic Literature? Do you need to practice and keep developing your Spanish skills? This is an ideal place for you. Reading in Spanish can improve your vocabulary, comprehension and more.

When we are able to read, listen, understand, and analyze a short story to learn more about what we are reading, then our experience becomes more interesting and rich! smile

Each week we'll pick a short story to read from the book mentioned lines below. We'll have a lively discussion, exchange ideas and gain some cultural insights. This 2-hour highly interactive Intermediate and advanced Spanish workshop will help you:

  • Understand the idioms used in the story
  • Increase your comprehension of Latin American culture wink
  • Discuss about styles and topics of Latin American Literature
  • Improve your accent and intonation cool
  • Analyze the grammar used in the story

It's a short but strong story!

We will use the book "Contemporary latin American Literature. Original Selections from the Literary Giants for Intermediate and Advanced Students" by Gladys M. Varona-Lacey. Ed Mc Graw Hill. If you want to you can get it here. I recommend this edition because it has Biographical notes introduce each author and provide readers with English definitions of difficult Spanish words and some explanations of historical events. (Or you can find the story on the web)

Requirements to sign up for this workshop include:

• Reading the story selected ahead of time
• Having been placed at the intermediate or advanced level at high school, college and/or a language school cool
