I am only at a beginners level with the Spanish language. But whatever I speak at this level, I speak it very well. I remember being in Bolivia when my grandmother was alive. Everyone in Bolivia would never call the Spanish language "espanol". They would always say "castellano". A man from Peru here in New York told me it was correct saying that the word "espanol" is only for a person and any object that is Spanish from Spain. But when you speak about the language, you only say "castellano". He was half right but also half wrong because ""castellano" or "Castilian"is the Spanish pronunciation from Spain, and Castilian pronunciation is NOT used in both Bolivia and Peru. It only goes to show you how ignorant the Bolivian and Peruvian people are. However, it is true that the original name for the Spanish language was "castellano" or "Castilian", instead of "espanol" or "Spanish".
