Beyond Right and Wrong: Introduction to Compassionate Communication

Join Pat and Teresa for an engaging and fun introduction to Compassionate-Nonviolent Communication (NVC), the Language of the Heart.

This free 90-minute gathering is for people who want to develop their communication skills in order to have more meaningful and effective relationships with friends, family members and co-workers.

We will discuss and explore topics such as:

• The Power of Deep Listening.
• Having empathy for yourself and others.
• Learning how to identify your deepest needs.
• Expressing and receiving gratitude.
• Approaching difficult conversations with more grace and ease.
• Transforming guilt and shame into self-acceptance.
• You will also have a chance to get to know other people with shared interests, build community, and practice the skills with other attendees.

Everyone is welcome, regardless of your past experience or motivation for coming -- we look forward to seeing you there.

If you can't make this meetup or want to know about other classes and workshops we offer, visit this page.

We hope to see you there!

Sincerely,

Pat DeSilva & Teresa Speakman, Host and Facilitators

Missed you, but understand it is not always easy to do all the things we want to do! I appreciate your appreciation ;) and enjoy offering intros because I want to share with the world what has made such a difference in my life 'making it more wonderful'

I am still feeling the warm energy of meeting everyone yesterday- that eagerness to embrace what is alive in us and hope for a compassionate awareness in our lives and our world! Hope to see you all again. ~Teresa

I'm so sorry to miss this! Sundays are difficult for me to make. I hope that there will be some upcoming events on different days. : )

HI Sheri, it is challenging to find a time that works for all, so we do try to offer different days and times. March should have a weekday evening for an Intro, and we are offering an Empathy Cafe coming up soon on a weekday evening as well. As soon as we know what day I will post it! ~ warmly, Teresa

I plan on coming this afternoon but will probably be a little late ... so sorry. I need to find a "how to stop procrastinating" meetup! ;) See you soon.

I have been exposed to nvc and even attended a conference and this will be my first time in a meet up. I'm feeling anxious about coming and am requesting some support from people that are attending or have attended.

I would love to be of assistance in any way I can. I will email you for further communication ;)

I have attended only one but also did a six week class and a conference or two. Even in or especially in the meetup everyone is kind and there to learn. Mistakes will be made in the process of moving from violent language and thought to one of compassion for self and others. I so appreciate the courage it took to express your need and to ask for it to be met by fellow traveler. Thank you for the opportunity to connect and practice even tho I am unable to make today after all. Even this small exchange is a connection, I find. Amazing!

IMPORTANT NOTICE: I just realized our original ending time for this meetup conflicts with another event held in the same space at that time, so I am changing the start time to 12:30pm and ending at 2pm (instead of 1-2:30). I hope this is not an inconvenience for anyone, and hope to see you Sunday at 12:30!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
