Socialization and activities for our daughter.
My wife and I have been supporting our daughter for 26 years. It's been quite a journey. I was a Sr. Software Engineer until February when I was laid off. This was quite a shock but caused me to move forward with what is my avocation in life, helping those who are disabled. So a friend and I started a non-profit organization called New Avenue Foundation http://newfdn.org. Our mission is to create meaningful lives for people with developmental disablities and autism through new forms of community integration and creative housing alternatives. This is now my full-time job, preparing for our daughter's future when we are gone.
I am a father of a 26 year old daughter who has autism and bipolar disorder and other issues. We are always looking for groups in which she can improve her socialization skills.
