This is a group for kids and their parents interested in learning how to program using Sphero robots. Sphero is a robotic ball gaming system and has several levels of programming - from beginner to expert. Open to any ages but kids over 12 will get the most out of it. No equipment is needed but if you have a smartphone - bring it - it might be more fun to use your own device. The meetup is hosted by Sphero's creator, Orbotix, in downtown Boulder. Kids need no programming experience. We hope to run these at least once a month on Saturdays. Programming starts out using simple macros written from your smartphone then expands to a modified BASIC for automated tasks, after that kids can dive into Kids Ruby or get all professional with our full blown SDK for iOS, Android, Unity and Cocos 2D. We will run a hands on classroom type setting each Saturday but kids are welcome to come back and get one on one help as they advance from meetup to meetup.

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
