Hi Sphero Rangers!
Our team from Colorado is headed out to Chicago this afternoon and we couldn't be more excited to be leading this event with our fabulous hosts at the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago.
In advance of the event, I wanted to highlight a few things that will make sure everyone has a great experience.
- Share this event with your friends! This is going to be an awesome class and we'd like to reach as many new robot programmers as possible. No previous experience is necessary. orbBasic is a powerful but simple tool to get programming Sphero. It was developed by one of our engineers whose previous work includes programming the fountain at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, Battle Bots, and Disney Imagineering. The class will be taught by Adam, one of our co-founders, and inventor of Sphero.
- BRING your own iOS or Android device if you have one - if not, one will be provided. We'll provide the Spheros. If you have questions about if your device is compatible, visit http://gosphero.com/c . (Please note, Sphero is not compatible with Kindle Fire).
- Download the apps in advance. We'll be using 2 Sphero apps in this class. Sphero and orbBasic. You can avoid the hassle of connecting to guest wifi or having a poor 3G signal by downloading these apps from home. The following links refer directly to the apps: Sphero for iOS and Android . orbBasic for iOS and Android.
- Meet us at the information desk. Just before the start of the event we will meet at the information desk in Main Level 2 and walk up to the E-Suite together. Directions to the E-Suite are on the event page. If you arrive late, the information desk staff will be able to guide you to the room.
This is going to be a fantastic event. We cannot wait to meet all of you and get the kids rolling with programming robots.
