World Wide Spin In Public Day

Let's occupy Central Park!  Bring your wheels, spindles and anything that twists fiber into yarn - join us for a day of spinning.  This event is open to non-Spin City members as well.

Easiest access is from the entrance at Central Park West just above 63rd street - follow the path straight into the park toward the ball fields - we will be at Heckscher Picnic area - directly across from ball field #2 - near Umpire Rock and Heckscher Playground.

Fabulous Fall day, good attendance. Lots of friendly interest from passersby meant plenty of opportunity to spread the yarn-making gospel.

I will have the NZ merino from the sheep that was wild for six years and also some raw chocolate lamb fiber and processed carded Bond from Joanne Gleason's flock in Colorado that I got this summer.

Some is spoken for and some will be available to pet and or buy. Bond is my new love. I also got one of her "old style" Corriedale white fleece I am keeping for myself, but will bring some to show off. (ended up with one and a half broen Bond lamb fleeces and the Corrie fleece.). It was a lot of fun to go see her sheep in person.

With come with my Zuca wheeled bag I can sit on or others can borrow since I am ok on the ground with spindles or my Hansen MS

If a few people could bring a chair or two (discreetly, of course) that would be great! Apparently Central Park does not want us bringing vast amounts of chairs. I'll have a chair for myself plus one extra. There are also benches, but only a few.

Once again, I'm requesting if you have any fleece you would like to donate for cat toys, I'll be there to pick up. Shortcuts, carded waste, over felted. VM not important. I know you will be carrying a lot, so if you would like to arrange for me to pick something up, please just let me know. Thank you all.
