As many friends may have heard, I am presently the caretaker of a 3week old rescue from Huricane Sandy. She was found during cleanup efforts in Coney Island without her mom. The day I took her to the vet, the vet was preparing to accept 56 other Sandy rescues. I thought it was once again time to buckle down and churn out some cage liners and toys for these voiceless victims.
We will be using needle felting and sewing pouches for cat toys. If you have old towels we will be accepting them, and old pillow cases can make easy cage liners with a few seams and some batting. Will be accepting donations of felting wool, fabric scraps, and larger fabric scraps appropriate for cage liners as well. Everything else will be provided. We will be working all weekend, but please just choose a day and time to come. Light refreshment will be provided.
Please realize that I share my home with several kitties (big and small). I do a thorough cleaning before any event, run a heppa filter and provide zyrtec for all those in need.
