Summit Bike: Route 303 – Brandywine Falls – Bow Wow Beach - 8.6/18.6 miles

Ride Name: Cycling from the Beach to the Waterfall
Trail: Summit Bike – Route 303 – Brandywine Falls – Bow Wow Beach
Rating: Beginner, Intermediate
Ride Type: Double Back
Distance: 8.6/18.6 miles roundtrip

Riding down the hill from the Metro Parks Bike and Hike Route 303 trailhead, you turn north cycling through ledges surrounding you on the trail. Crossing over the Ohio Turnpike, you travel through a shaded trail to Brandywine Road. Sailing down the hill, you cross over I-271 to the Brandywine Falls Trailhead. You turn your bike and trace your tire tracks back to Route 303.

Happy with a shorter ride… feel free to drop out. Up for a longer ride… continue cycling south climbing over Route 8 and down the hill heading towards Hudson. The tree line trail cuts an eastward path crossing Hudson Drive and Norton Road. The sounds of barking dogs greet you as you cross Stow Road and turn into Bow Wow Beach at Silver Springs Park. After catching the dogs frolicking in the water and on the beach, you turn and retrace your tracks back to Route 303.

Double back rides give cyclists flexibility on rides. Cyclists begin at the midpoint and cycle to the first destination. The group turns and cycles back to the start. Cyclists wanting a short ride end their ride. Cyclists up for a longer ride continue to the second destination and back to the midpoint. There you have it; a double back with two rides options!

Tonight’s ride travels at 10 mph and typically takes 2 hours including photo-ops and rest stops. The ride is rated for leisure cyclists who enjoy cycling 10-12 mph on flat trails with an occasional hill or elevation gain. The trail surface is mixed with areas of both asphalt and packed limestone. It is relatively flat with some moderate elevation changes. The ride should be a comfortable ride for the intermediate cyclist. It is ideal for a beginner cyclist who wants a small challenge.

This ride is on the calendar of the Spin-off Cyclists . We encourage you to join us on this and other rides. We are a group of cyclists of all ages and abilities who cycle the trails of Northeast Ohio and surrounding areas for fun, health and friendship.

There were many changes to this route since I last rode it. This is the best way to find these changes (with a good group) Good meet-up thanks Brett.

I really hope I can make this one, I'm excited to participate, it seems like I'm the only one around me (other than my daughter) that appreciates the joys of bike riding. Keep up the good work everyone! Lol

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
