Summit Bike: Brust Park – North River Road – Hudson Drive – 5.8/15.2 miles

Ride Name: Cycling along the Crooked River and Silver Lake
Trail: Summit Bike – Brust Park – North River Road – Hudson Drive – Brust Park
Rating: Intermediate
Ride Type: Double Back
Distance: 5.8/15.2 miles roundtrip

Heading your bike east on the Metro Parks Summit Bike and Hike Trail from the Munroe Falls Brust Park trailhead, you cycle past the remnants of the Munroe Falls Dam. The trail rolls its way to North River Road in Stow as it passes along the Cuyahoga River and through the woods. At North River road, turn your bike and trace your tire tracks back to Brust Park.

Happy with a shorter ride… feel free to drop out. Up for a longer ride… continue cycling west on the Bike and Hike under Darrow Road and along the Cuyahoga Falls Border to Silver Lake Village Park. Following Silver Lake Boulevard to Graham Road, continue through quiet back roads in Stow. Turn into the Bike and Hike Trail parking lot on Springdale Road and retrace your tracks back to Brust Park.

Double back rides give cyclists flexibility on rides. Cyclists begin at the midpoint and cycle to the first destination. The group turns and cycles back to the start. Cyclists wanting a short ride end their ride. Cyclists up for a longer ride continue to the second destination and back to the midpoint. There you have it; a double back with two rides options!

Tonight’s ride travels at 10 mph and typically takes 2 hours including photo-ops and rest stops. The ride is rated for leisure cyclists who enjoy cycling 10-12 mph on flat trails with an occasional hill or elevation gain. The trail surface is mixed with areas of both asphalt and packed limestone. It is relatively flat with some moderate elevation changes. The ride should be a comfortable ride for the intermediate cyclist. It is ideal for a beginner cyclist who wants a small challenge.

This ride is on the calendar of the Spin-off Cyclists . We encourage you to join us on this and other rides. We are a group of cyclists of all ages and abilities who cycle the trails of Northeast Ohio and surrounding areas for fun, health and friendship.

Great company, great weather, good excercise. The route north was in residential areas and not that nice to ride on.
