Cabin Fever Saturday Hike, Snowshoe or Cross Country Skiing

Even though the trails may be snow covered, we can still get out of the house and enjoy our local parks. This year we are repeating our Cabin Fever Saturdays series on alternating weeks during January, February and March.

Depending on the trail, you may be able choose from hiking or snowshoeing. Some parks do not offer snowshoe rental. The meet-up listing notes whether snowshoe rental is available at the trailhead. You are welcome to bring your own and wear them on any of these hikes. Trails unsuitable for snowshoeing will also be noted.

Snowshoes and cross-country skis are available at the Kendall Winter Sports Center. Please arrive 30 minutes early to allow time for rental and snowshoe/ski fitting and orientation. The NPS rents snowshoes for $5/day and cross-country skis for $10.

It was the perfect day for snowshoeing. The sun and the snow made for a beautiful hike.

It was great to get out of the house and into some fresh air. I have to get my straps on my snow shoes set up before the next meet. Never had any trouble before but now they loosen up as I walk.
The car is ok and I have the garage door back in the opening. I will finish it tomorrow. A garage door is handy when the weather gets into the minus figures.
Enjoyed being with the group again! Sorry I missed the lunch but I had to work on the door.

Got lost from the lot at the winter center. Got a pair of cross countries and got instructions to try out the oak hill trail. Enjoyed the winter fun but ended up missing your company!

Thanks for setting up. Tried Tuesday in Buffalo. Way too cold.
