Cinco de Mayo Ride - Summit Bike and Hike Trail Loop - 21.8 Miles

Ride Name: Loop da Loop
Trail: 30 – Bike and Hike Trail – Brust Park/Munroe Falls Trailhead (44262) Roundtrip via Silver Lake, Stow, Hudson and Kent
Rating: Advanced
Ride Type: Out and Back
Distance: 21.8 miles

Today’s ride has us riding in circles. We are taking a tour of Summit County’s northeastern suburbs on the Summit Hike and Bike loop. Meet us in the Brust Park parking lot on Route 91/Darrow Road in Munroe Falls. Heading west, we pass along the Cuyahoga River on our way to Silver Lake. At Kent Road, we cycle quiet neighborhood streets along the shores of Silver Lake that lead us into Stow. At Hudson Drive, we rejoin the dedicated bike trail and roll along the side of Route 8 on way to our rest stop at the Route 303 trailhead.

We head east on the loop through Hudson and into Stow passing Silver Springs Park and Bow Wow Beach. Soon, we leave the trail and head south on Young Road on our way to Graham Road. Heading for lunch at Moe's Southwest Grill in the Graham Road Plaza adjoining the Bike and Hike. After lunch, we return the trail along Graham Road. We pass through a quiet residential area as we near Fishcreek Road.

Following sidewalks along Fishcreek Road, we rejoin the trail on Dayton Avenue and head south to North River Road. A short jog east on the road takes us to the Kent trailhead. We follow the last miles cycling along the Cuyahoga as we end our ride at Brust Park.

Out and back rides are designed with the intermediate and advanced cyclist in mind. These rides cycle out of a trailhead to a set destination, typically 8-10 miles away. After a break, the riders cycle back to the departure trailhead.

This ride is rated as advanced, as it is a longer ride for the recreational cyclist. Cyclists travel at a pace of 11-13 mph. The ride traverse variable terrain with easy grades with a few short climbs. Distance is usually 15-30 miles. Regroups are common but at the discretion of the ride leader. Rest stops taken as needed.

This ride is on the calendar of the Spin-off Cyclists . We encourage you to join us on this and other rides. We are a group of cyclists of all ages and abilities who cycle the trails of Northeast Ohio and surrounding areas for fun, health and friendship.
