Bournemouth Spiritual Exchange Fortnightly Meetup

Wanna talk spiritual stuff with like-minded people and have a bit of fun at the same time? Then this group is for YOU!!

It's designed to attract spiritual people of all ages and persuasions, and in particular YOUNG PEOPLE because YOU will be the ones who take this earth forward into whatever future we are currently manifesting as a human collective. In our fortnightly meetings the atmosphere is SOCIAL and INFORMAL, allowing people time to talk to friends new and old – in deliberate contrast to an evening dominated by a paid speaker. Above all we like to have FUN and not take ourselves too seriously. However difficult the challenges we’re sometimes facing, it doesn’t do any harm to be occasionally reminded that the earth is just one part of a huge cosmic playground… and everyone knows that laughter is the best therapy of them all.

Of course the EXCHANGE of ideas and viewpoints to broaden our horizons is important too, so around an hour and a half is normally set aside for a discussion chaired by one of the organisers - but even this is very much free flowing and we tend to just see where the energy takes us. The topics we cover are hugely wide ranging, although we do try to make sure they have some sort of spiritual angle.

Above all what the members of this group do is 'come from the heart'. Right from day one that's how it worked out, with members opening up to each other about their spiritual thoughts and inclinations in ways they might not with even their nearest and dearest. You're also welcome even if you think you're a 'beginner', because you've probably had just as many lives as any of us ;-)

We really look forward to welcoming you to our shared journey

PS Because we now have a good turnout on a regular basis we have to hire a proper function room. The charge, payable by those who attend on the night, is to pay for the room hire. Suggested payment is £5 if you can afford it, but less may be fine from some attendees who are more pushed for cash, depending on how many attend. Any surplus will be put towards the bi-annual meetup site fee, or may pay for a free meeting if sufficient money is accumuilated.

I just remembered to look up the details about Frederick Myers and his afterlife views. Not quite the way I phrased it in the meeting but very interesting nonetheless. The following link is to Michael Tymn's website. He has a lot of wise things to say on this and related subjects - I have a lot of respect for his views.

For some reason the link I give below for the documentary doesn't work for me although it looks right.
Maybe try accessing Ian's site http://www.ianlawton.com and under rs (rational spirituality) look under 'videos related to rs'
Why doesn't this crazy website allow you to copy and paste?

This was the first meeting with a discussion theme and tonight's was reincarnation - the special 'baby' of Ian Lawton who has spent many years studying the subject from an evidential point of view.
Most of us agreed that the case he documented in detail was very persuasive and reincarnation seems the best possible explanation for the events
If you want to view the Australian documentary he was talking about it's linked here on Ian's website - scroll down to Past Life Regression:

    Hi Lorna,

There's loads of street parking nearby, they do have a car park but I find it easier to park on the street. We don't normally start dead on 730. I get there about 20 past, we congregate in the bar and have a drink beforehand, which you can take with you into the (very relaxed) meeting :-)

Hi. Does the Hallmark have free parking or is it necessary to drive around the streets until you find a space? Also, do people arrive at 7:30 or for 7:30? Thanks. I liked what you said regarding Saturday's beach event about taking a look & then running away, but was detained by family commitments...

Hi Gang, just to let you know that this Thursday will potentially be our first proper discussion topic meeting, all about reincarnation, the logic and evidence etc etc. However again so far we only have 8 people who have RSVPd, and I'm not going to waste an important topic on only a small number of people. So please RSVP asap if you are coming so I know what to expect. If the numbers remain small because it's still summer (say less than 20) I'll hold off and save the topic for another time and we'll just find something else to talk about. Love and hugs, Ian xx

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
