Third Bournemouth Spiritual Exchange "Barbie on the Beach"

It’s summer time again so we can have MORE fun, fun, fun!!

After the roaring success of the first two events thoroughly enjoyed by all, this will be our third Spiritual Exchange “barbie on the beach”. Again it will be completely informal, and to keep it simple and easy on the admin (always my favoured style) we’re doing nothing centrally except setting the date, time and place and encouraging as many people as possible to come along.

So everyone attending again please make sure you bring your own food and drink, and your own barbecue equipment, utensils, cutlery etc (although of course some of you might like to group together on this).

We’re holding it on Southbourne beach so that if there’s a major problem like persistent rain we can retire to Wayne’s garage, which apparently is close by, is an excellent indoor party venue and can hold quite a few people (many thanks Wayne ;-)

In terms of numbers there’s no real restrictions, so please RSVP on the site if you’re a member of the group so we can get a rough idea, but also feel free to invite friends who aren’t.

And those of you who’ve never been to a Spiritual Exchange meetup yet, this is your chance to come and meet us in as informal a setting as you can get. (Indeed you can come and see us from a distance and if you don’t like what you see you can run away again!! But you won’t cos we’re lovely and have a great group vibe… so just get along and make some terrific new friends.)

Also please make sure you check the website after 12 noon on the day, just to make sure there are no final changes to the plans.

We look forward to seeing lots of familiar and new faces ;-)

Ian xx

PS Since it worked perfectly last time let's all start manifesting beautiful weather for the evening of the 10th now. It’s a done deal...

Nice fresh air and a good old chat with friends - what could be better? I enjoyed it.

How about fresh air + friends + beer/cider/wine ?! All in plentiful supply yesterday. Thanks to Nick and Sarah for persuading me that we should actually do the beach thing, rather than head to the pub as I was suggesting when there were just 5 of us in the Cafe Riva sheltering from the breeze :-)

Enjoyed the evening with my new friends. An English BBQ by the sea with coats on. !!! It reminded me of my childhood days in Cornwall on our summer holidays, especially after living in Australia. But then it the company not weather that is important.

Home sick but just heard from Jo around 7pm that hardly anyone at BBQ!

Do hope people didn't take notice of Ken's little slip above when he mentioned July 10......

The proper date IS at the top of his piece.

Not guilty re. the date m'lud ! The meet-up announcement was originally done by Ian, he must have been distracted by thoughts of this week's InBetweeners on the 10th :-) Great evening last night ... and as you were unable to discharge your Official Photographer duties Dave I had a bash. Will upload any decent pics when we get back home this evening.

Firstly, thanks so much, Ian, for all you have done to make this such a wonderful group to belong to!
So sorry I won't be able to join you all at the BBQ. I'm awaiting a hip replacement op and I'm in a great deal of pain so getting to the beach, sitting on it and returning home are all impossible right now. Enjoy yourselves, hope the weather stays clement and all the very best to you all for the summer recess. Look forward to seeing you all in September. Love and hugs from Viv x.x.x (ps, Jan may I have my book back please? love Viv x,x,x)

Agreed that without Ian this group would not be here ! Very sorry to hear your hip is giving you such stick at the moment Viv, we hope to see you leaping about on your new one very soon :-) Till then take care x

Just checked the Met Office forecast and whilst Bournemouth is in for a bit of a damp spell starting this evening by tomorrow afternoon we'll have nice weather and maybe even clear skies in the evening. Could be a bit breezy though so I'll be wearing a couple of layers of fleeces and jackets ... not that there's anything unusual in that :-) Bring a wind-break if you have one ...

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
