Our Mission:

The Louisville Area Spiritual Food Meetup’s mission is to gather a community of people desirous of growing spiritually based on the core principles of truth and perfect love.

Group Foundation:

The foundation of the group is based on the assumption that God’s love is perfect. If correct then we can be assured that God loves each of us “As He loves himself.” As human beings our common and natural way to love is to love imperfectly; such as, loving some people a little more than others as well as loving others a little less than we love ourselves.

Our supposition is that if as individuals and as a group we can discern and change our “imperfect loving” to “perfect loving,” or at least to do our best in attempting to do so, it will open a doorway to knowing God in significantly richer and deeper ways as well as understanding spiritual truth more clearly and correctly.

We also endeavor to answer the questions:

What does that look like?  and

How do we practically carry this out while living in a world that loves imperfectly?

Reasons for the Group:

Spiritual beliefs are numerous and cover a broad variety and spectrum. The main foundation of our lives are based on our spiritual beliefs. If they are incorrect, either fully or in part, they significantly affect our lives and even (many believe) our whole eternity.

Topics that may be discussed or presented:

Almost anything spiritual that will be helpful in accomplishing our purpose.

Spiritual Discussion Format:

There may be a video or presentation on a spiritual topic in order to generate a discussion, thoughts, or comments.

Note: There are groups and people who hold the view that "whatever a person's spiritual beliefs are" is fine and good as long as they do not hurt anyone. While this group loves everyone and allows everyone to believe as they wish, this group strives to discern correct spiritual truth. It is impossible that all spiritual belief systems are correct, or even that most spiritual beliefs can be fully correct since they contradict each other in significant ways.

Goal of Meetings:

To create an atmosphere conducive for God’s spirit to guide and direct the meeting. (So every meeting can and probably will be somewhat different).

Final destination:

Where God’s spirit leads

Since love is one of the foundations of this meetup (truth is the other), this group believes that everyone is special and everyone is important. Which is why…..

We look forward to meeting you!

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
