The purpose of the Meetup group Practicing Living in the Moment is to explore spiritual practices that lead us to a deeper experience of being alive in the present moment. In each meeting, after introducing ourselves to each other and "catching up," we do a short guided meditation and then we read passages from a book the group has selected. We try to practice what we've read about in our daily lives.
Once the group feels that we have mastered the material, we then select by consensus another author and book to study and move on. The group was originally started in August of 2008 by Warren Collins. Unfortunately Warren passed onward in Dec 2008, and we miss him dearly. We decided to continue this group and dedicate it to his memory.
While all points of view are welcome, we are committed to studying and focusing on one work at a time. We believe in being open, eclectic, inclusive and in trying to become unfettered by our prejudices and preferences. In this way, we hope to widely explore the landscape of spiritual development together and deepen our mutual understanding.
We currently meet at:
Saint Margaret's Episcopal Church (Map Link)
4228 Factoria Boulevard SE
Bellevue WA 98006
As you face the church entrance (from the parking lot) if you look to your left you'll see some stairs leading down. These go to the chapel, where the group meets. Feel free to take the stairs down and come inside the chapel door on the left. The group normally gets set up at about 6:45 PM so there should already be someone there.
We look forward to having you join us!!
