DC919 - Crypto Party

Meeting of the local DEF CON group - DC919

Q: What is a crypto party?

Our goal is to get people together to help each other learn to use crypto tools - anything from PGP to Tor to TextSecure - and participants should bring the device(s) of their choice (laptop, tablet, smartphone, etc.). We'll have internet access at the space, but if there's something particular they want to play with, downloading it in advance is always a good idea.

Young crypto enthusiasts are welcome if accompanied by an adult! Unfortunately, we can't accommodate unattended minors. :(

Re-posting info about the CryptoParty that was sent to the DC919 mailing list for anyone not on that list:

Greetings! Thanks for RSVPing for our CryptoParty on Monday. Look forward to seeing you there! We have twenty people signed up, so it should be quite a party. :)

We will be providing Mellow Mushroom Pizza at 7. If you have special dietary requirements that you haven't already communicated, please let me know now. (There will definitely be veggie pizza!)

SplatSpace is at 331 W Main St, Durham, NC. Remember that parking is free in the back of the building. There will be signage and a contact to let you in. If nobody is at the door, you can call *[masked](HACK)* to reach one of us!

Don't forget to bring your laptops / tablets / smartphones / any other computing device on which you want to install these crypto tools. Bonus points if you download them before the party, so we don't crush the SplatSpace wifi...
