SplatSpace (*space) is a multidisciplinary workspace, playspace, and hackerspace in Downtown Durham.
Our name is derived from the geeky and wonderful asterisk, also known as a "splat." An asterisk, or splat, is a symbol meaning everything: at our space, we do it all and all are welcome.
We're a non-profit, member-driven, member-funded organization focused around the idea of having a physical space for people to get together, work on projects, collaborate on their work or hobbies, and teach/learn from each other.
We are looking for crafters, engineers, mad scientists, artists, programmers, tinkerers, and makers of all kinds to join our group!
Visiting Splat Space
We have a physical location to house all the hacking. We opened our doors on September 14. We are open to the public every Tuesday at 7pm for our weekly Open House. Visitors can come during any of our events and visit at no charge.
Membership & 24/7 Access at Splat Space
If you'd like to become a member of Splat Space, come get to know us first! If the group is a good fit for you, you have the option to receive a key to the space and 24/7 access for $50/month. We also offer a student membership for $35/month and an associate membership for those who would like to support our group for $20/month. Many full-time members have made Splat Space their work-from-home alternative, or just visit in the evenings to hack along with others.
