Come with us for a walk through medieval Clerkenwell.
Outside the thick-walled medieval City of London was an old dark church, squatting on the banks of the Fleet.
This was the first priory of the Knights Templar: mysterious holy knights and power brokers.
In 1309 it, and the lands around it, became a place of healing under the Knights of St. John, but even they lost sway.
Now it’s Clerkenwell, and the fortress of St. John has been taken away brick by brick until almost nothing is left…
But the soil never forgets, and neither do the dead.
Our professional guide, Jon Kaneko-James, from Boo Tours, will tell us about Witch Trials, Demons, Rivers of Blood, the Knights of the Living Dead and London’s most haunted site.
Dare you walk the old knights’ keep?
The tour is free for Spooky London members and £8 for non-members.
