Not So Muddy Sunday Volleyball Tournament

Sunday April 28th, 2013
St. Ignatius College Prep
[masked]th Avenue, SF 94116
9:00am – 1:00pm

What is Not So Muddy Sunday?
In 2006, a group of volleyball players from Keenan Hall set up a mud volleyball tournament to raise money for the Notre Dame chapter of Habitat for Humanity. Every year in the spring, Keenan Hall transforms the Holy Cross field behind the Grotto into a dozen or so mud pits. It is highly unlikely that we will get the city of San Francisco to let us dig up Golden Gate Park for our one-day escapade so we will be hosting this tournament without the mud.

What are the rules for volleyball?
Not so Muddy Sunday is a fun/friendly/potentially competitive 6-on-6 round robin tournament. Each team of 6 players will participate in at least 2 games. You will play to 25 points rally score. Points are scored regardless of which team served the ball.
Players of the serving team must rotate clockwise prior to serving the ball. The ball may be hit in any manner with the hand.
Carrying, holding, or throwing the ball while it is in play is a foul. The play must be a distinct batting of the ball.
Three hits to a side. No player may hit the ball twice in direct succession. A block is not considered a hit.
The net will be men’s height. It is a foul for players to touch the net during play or reach over the net during play.
You must have one woman on the court at all times.
If you have difficulty finding 6 players, if you are a singleton player or need a female player please contact AJ Ong ([masked]).

Where is Not So Muddy Sunday?
This tournament takes place behind the Grotto on a warm sunny Sunday morning in South Bend, Indiana.

Ours will take place on a possibly-warm-sunny-but-most-likely-not-because-it-is-San-Francisco Sunday morning. The tournament is at:
