The Spring Film Group was created to give filmmakers the opportunity to gain experience in film, gain exposure and to encourage and enable industry professionals to educate and help others in their community to succeed in the film industry.
In addition to our EDUCATIONAL SEMINARS and other events, WE MAKE FILMS. Each film is a real and raw opportunity to act or be part of a crew, gain IMDB credits -- http://www.imdb.com/company/co0337009/ -- and get to know the craft and fellow filmmakers. Every set is open to all members, at any level of experience.
The SFG made 15 films in 2010 with less than two-thousand dollars in donations. We have organized numerous educational seminars focusing on various aspects of the film industry and are lining up more exciting guest speakers for future events.
We are now ready to file for our 501(c)(3) non-profit status, which will provide further incentive for larger donations that will enable us to increase the level of what we can do for the community.
However, in the meantime, any small gift or donation would help keep us doing what we do and providing opportunities for our members to learn, experience and expand the film community in Houston. We are not in this for profit or for our own egos. This is our home and we want to grow a solid film industry, right here. We (the Group Organizers) donate our time, our efforts and our own money towards helping the community in this regard, but our personal funds will not last forever. We could use some help occasionally. Please consider giving, if you are able.
