SSQA Monthly meeting

Tester Games

Jon Bach will demonstrate some tester games -- ways to enhance and cultivate the spirit of revealing problems and strengthen your own thinking.

Jon is Director of Live Site Quality for eBay. His role is to coordinate efforts to find production bugs on eBay's related sites and take measures to improve customer experiences through bug advocacy.  A veteran of over 100 conferences, he delights in telling stories from 18 years in testing for companies like LexisNexis, Hewlett-Packard, and Microsoft.  He is an award-winning keynote speaker and blogger, but his claim-to-fame is as co-creator of Session-Based Test Management — a way to manage and measure efforts from exploratory testing.

SSQA meets monthly on the second Tuesday of the month. Topics vary and cover all aspects of software quality assurance. Meetings are free and open to the public.

I've worked with Linda Westfall - both writing and reviewing & approving the CSQE exam, and have no hesitation in recommending her as an excellent resource for getting ready for the exam. Her website is www.westfallteam.com; her book, "The Certified Software Quality Engineer Handbook" is an excellent resource (ISBN[masked]) to prepare for and take to the exam.

Thank you Jon for hosting the event and also for giving a fun and interesting talk. The testing games bring fun and excitement and ignite that natural curiosity that I think we all have as testers and think more outside the box in creative ways.

Sorry to cancel so late. I would have loved to hear about the tester games, but looking at the state of the freeways, it'll take me about 2 hours to get there...I need to find a better way to travel at this time of the day.

Something came up, and I will not be able to make it tonight, due to the amount of time it takes me to get there. Hopefully next month!
