Sergey Chernyshev (http://www.sergeycher...) will talk about the performance of Web applications and sites in general, why it matters and what can be done to improve it. His presentation covers both front and back-end performance, with emphasis on the front-end and it will be useful for everyone from designers to system administrators.
General understanding of web development is required, but a wide range of performance tuning techniques, available to every skill level, will be covered.
“ Sergey managed to pack a lot of information in his unique fashion, but did cover some interesting gems of advice. As always, every meetup has been worthwhile and instructive. ”
“ Excellent speaker, interesting material pitched at right level. Really an overview of this very nuanced subject that left people with the right information if they want to follow up afterwards. ”
“ Was great to meetup to reinforce the idea of why web performance is so important. Hope we can cut to demonstrations earlier, I found those the most interesting. Thanks again Sergey, Dave, Jeffrey. ”
“ Overall it was a good talk mostly summarizing Steve Souder's research. For those of us who are already familiar with his work, it may have been a little repetitive--but any discussion of best practices is a useful one. I had a good time. ”
