I enjoyed this meetup and appreciate scott taking the time to put together a presentation on the topic. This was my first meetup with this group - I've been interested in attending many past ones but the scheduling hasn't worked out. Seems like a good bunch with diverse experience.

I would love a meetup on best practices for the development life-cycle for a small team: spec'ing out, implementing, testing and deploying. Especially the spec'ing and the testing.

Anya, I think that's a great idea and would be a helpful to many of us. Perhaps there's a way to break the lifecycle into manageable chunks over a series of meetups. Scott's version control best practices within the context of small teams could be the prelude to a larger dicussion.

Thanks for the comments and ideas, anya and Jerome. I think the development life-cycle is a great topic, anya, and I agree, Jerome, that it could be broken in manageable chunks over a series of meetups.

Perhaps instead of a single presenter, we could also do panels. That way a number of people could talk about how they handle specifications, implementation, testing and deploying.

Hey folks -- fyi just stumbled into the post on 456 Berea St. regarding "Version Control with Subversion on OS X" -- a good overview:

Another great presentation by Scott. I had developed a tutorial for Tortoise SVN a couple of years back and was interested in learning more about SVN in general, as well as other client options. I was disappointed that the conversation veered off into why Dreamweaver is evil, etc. Tools are tools. It's really how you use them that counts.

Beer was good. Overall it was informative but could have been wrapped up in an hour. Some of the audience members spoke out of turn and for too long taking from the presenters time. I also wish people would just ask questions and not use that time as their own mini forum. But it should have been made clearer that this was a mac specific presentation which was great for me as a mac user but probably not so for windows enthusiast.
