Make It In SB - Learn the basics of 3D Printing & Arduinos for Startup Weekend!

Are you curious about 3d printing and want to find out what a “Maker” event is?

Got a great idea for product, but can’t figure out how to get started or create a prototype?

Startup Weekend Santa Barbara #3 will feature 3D printing, robotics, arduinos, maker machines and your amazing hard product ideas!

We’ve gathered a great group of mentors that will be available during Startup Weekend to help you to build a business around a hard product idea!  We’ll also have 3d printing machines at the event (thanks to Santa Barbara Hackerspace) to help you create your first prototype!!!

To get you ready for the event… and to answer any questions you might have StartupSB and the Startup Weekend Organizers are hosting a 3d printing, Arduino and CAD workshop to get you started and set up with the right software to interface with the 3d printers for Startup Weekend (or your own projects), and get you familiar with the potential to bring your ideas to life!

Startup Weekend Santa Barbara organizer Jim McGaw will hosting the event.
It will take place in Santa Barbara’s Open Lab, on the Lower level of the Santa Barbara Public Library.

Mike Everman, Cheif Technology Officer and Principal of Bell-Everman will also speak about 3D printing and what Bell-Everman is up to with 3D printers.

The event is FREE and open to ANYONE that is interested!

No prior knowledge is required…and beginners are welcome and encouraged to attend!

We hope you’ll join us!

Event Schedule:
6pm - some socializing
6:30 - Program begins and will cover:

- The basics on how to get started with 3d printing
- How Arduino kits work
- Q & A
- prize giveaways!
We’ll give away an Arduino board and a few maker tickets to Startup Weekend!

The Startup Weekend Team will also be on hand to explain more about Startup Weekend, the Global Startup Battle going on during the weekend… and the Production of a future TV pilot that will be filmed at the Startup Weekend event about Barbara’s Startup and maker scene and Startup Weekend!

Mike Bales, from the Santa Barbara Hackerspace, will also be teaching a "Make your own Sumobot" class at the same time in a room adjoining the one we'll be in. The class is full, but attendees to this StartupSB event are welcome to peek in and see a class of young kids to adults learning to program their own Sumobots.

Join us on Monday November 11, at 6pm at the Santa Barbara public library!

To everyone who is attending this evening: bring your laptops! We want this event to be very hands on, and get everyone set up with what they need on their computers to create things for the weekend.

    See you tonight!
