Meetup of Interest: Building Back-end Services for Mobile Apps

Every mobile or web app needs a back-end these days. It does not matter, in most cases, what that is as long as the app can communicate, store and retrieve data. Amazon Web Services (AWS) is not the only game in town.

So by building for a given mobile platform such as iOS, Android, Windows, Blackberry or beyond - there is a wide array of options available to fit your requirements.

This meetup will be hosted by the CapArea.NET user group. Since it is a topic of significant importance to developers, aspiring or not, I decided to post it here. The topic covers Microsoft specific technologies, but it transcends to other platforms in general.

G. Andrew DuthieCome check out Microsoft Technical Evangelist G. Andrew Duthie who will discuss a variety of ways to build robust back-end services for your apps.

Whether you're building apps for the Windows Store, or for phones or tablets, many apps today need a common way to store and access data. In this session, Microsoft Technical Evangelist G. Andrew Duthie will provide an overview of different tools for building robust back-end REST-style services that can be leveraged across multiple platforms, including solutions based on WCF Data Services, ASP.NET Web API, and the new Windows Azure Mobile Services.

Learn how you can quickly and easily get a back-end data store and services up and running, so you can spend more time on building a fantastic Windows Store or other mobile app.
