Anyone is welcome to come! Developers, lawyers, students, marketing folks, business development types, designers, coders, entrepreneurs, UX, UI, people and Jack of all trades.

On Friday night people pitch their ideas, there can be as few as 25 pitches or as many as 100, we keep on pitching until everyone is done! We do a simple vote of everyone’s favorite 2 or 3 to narrow down the ideas by about 80%. Individuals then gather around each idea to discuss feasibility, and normally a few more will be dropped. For a room of one hundred people we generally see teams between 5-10 people and a total of between 10-15 teams working away on 10-15 new startups.

At after Friday evening people come in early on Saturday and work work work for the rest of the weekend until giving a demo of the newly created startup on Sunday evening. We’ve had teams that were generating revenue on Saturday evening in the past! It’s a great learning experience, great networking, and a lot of fun to roll up your sleeves and get in the trenches launching a new startup!

Hope to see you there!  http://la.startupweekend.org/tickets

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
