Bright Moon Light Night Photography

NOTE: Date Change, storm is clearing out slower than expected. Changed to Wednesday, March 12.

DESCRIPTION: Learn to shoot, expose correctly, and focus in the dark, well almost dark. These classes are a few days before the full moon and it will be surprisingly bright to your camera.

We will be shooting using the moon light rather than shooting at the moon. You will be amazed how bright your photos can be with the right settings.

We will be shooting in Manual mode. You do not need experience shooting in Manual, I'll show you what to do. Bring your, jacket, coffee, widest lenses, cable release (if you have it) and your tripod (required). Don't forget a flash light.

See example images at the previous Bright Moon Meetup:

Suggested donation is $20 per photographer but only if you have fun and learn something!

Limit of 8 participants for this location. Sign up early!

LOCATION: We will meet at the Ranger Station at Chatauqua Park, Baseline and 9th, Boulder CO. This is a change.

Eldorado Canyon rocks from our shooting location on Hwy 93. Yes, this was taken under moonlight.

Some bright moon light photography in Hawai'i. Too bad we can't do a Meetup there very easily!

Since the date was changed to Wednesday, won't be able to make it there. Try again next month.

I am definitely interested in learning this type of photography, but too late for me on a "school night". I'll hope to see a similar offering on a Friday or Saturday night in the future...

Hi Shari, thanks for your interest. I schedule these about 3 or 4 days before the full moon. That always puts them in this time frame rather than midnight to 2am! Looking at the calendar the April or May session may hit on a weekend. Those probably won't get posted for a month or so.

Thanks, Steve, I'm still keeping an eye out for a Friday or Saturday event... Might even be able to squeeze in a Thursday...

If we are cancelled then I could attend Thurs. or Friday this week but not Weds. If not this month then maybe next month.

I'll catch up on the moon shoot another time; it looks like the weather will not be great tomorrow evening. Yes, I am chickening out.
