Ruby talks

Join us for presentations from our Ruby community. We will feature two 30-minute talks plus four lightning talks.

The first talk will be held by Elastx, a Swedish based PaaS company, providing a high performance alternative to Heroku. They will talk about the limitations and possibilities using cloud platforms and do a live demo of their platform that has native support for Java, PHP and, recently added, Ruby.

The second talk will be Mike Burns presenting "When Not to Use Object-Oriented Programming".

The lightning talks are open to all. We run a lightning talk preparation night (like a project night but just for talks); it's not required, but it may prove helpful.

Food and space are provided by thoughtbot.

Presentation nights are a fun way to keep up with the community. No question is too simple, the talks provide good conversation starters, and Rubyists of all levels will be there. Beginners are encouraged to attend.

would have liked to hear Mike's talk and about Elastx but was out of town. Maybe you will do a rerun sometime, Mike?

Nice meeting with you guys yesterday and thanks for your positive feedback. If anyone is interested in trying out Ruby on our PaaS, sign up at for instant access, then contact our and we'll activate Ruby support. Ruby support will be officially released in a couple of weeks. /Henrik, Elastx
