Rebecca Olson grew up in Webster Groves, MO, and attended University of Missouri.
She moved to California and began her career with Macy's Department stores in San Francisco as a trainee, and worked her way up to buyer for the candy department, and later took on responsibility for gourmet foods and wine. She was made V.P. of all food services. She moved to San Diego, and led the merchandising for a chain of candy stores, before striking out on her own to open a retail store, Make Mine Sweet. After 3 years, she sold that business and became a successful sales representative.
She moved back to St. Louis to raise her daughter Molly. Her daughter now attends Truman State University.
Rebecca was the co founder of the St. Louis chapter of Powerful You! a women's networking group.
Rebecca is now the President and CEO of the Webster Groves/Shrewsbury/Rock Hill Chamber of Commerce, where she now utilizes all of her varied background to connect business owners and organizations with people in the community. She is also President of her Toastmasters Club in Webster Groves, and is a volunteer for Girls on the Run.
Rebecca is a believer in face to face communication, and appreciation marketing. In this "high-tech" world, it is so important to remember to master being "high-touch" as well.
