WordPress Developers Meetup - HTTP API

  • Jan 6, 2014 · 6:30 PM

Update: Since the winter weather is keeping us indoors (and the fine folks at Integrity are closed) we're going to host this meet up virtually. Join us if you can at a Google Hangout here:

Ever wanted to make a web request in your plugin to an external site? Come to this meetup and learn how.

We will also discuss the upcoming WordCamp St. Louis on March 1.

Anyone have ideas or suggestions for next month's topic?

Guys, I hate to do this but I am afraid we are going to have to cancel tomorrow's meetup. Our office will not be open due to the snocalypse. I don't know how many people were actually planning on attending but I definitely think we should postpone this one until the snow clears. Any thoughts or suggestions!?

I just created a WordPress St. Louis community on Google Plus. I figured it would be easier to add an event (hangout) on there and you all can sign up on it:

I am an auctioneer and I am stuck in WordPress however due to the overwhelming amount of choices, and yes I have ADD.

    I want to:
    1) I want to have users (sellers/buyers) register for my websites
    2) Add upcoming/past auctions, at first I just want to add an entire auction like this Sat. [masked] Oak Street, Sometown, State, zip
    3) Add online bidding

Currently in WordPress I have and not in WordPress The more I look the more ways I see to do this. I have added gravity forms and it is working. I have made a seller registration page and it collects data and puts it into the WordPress database (I see it under entries).

I'm not at all sure how to use the data, and therein lies the problem. Do I use gravity forms to build a page to display it? I have looked and looked but I must be missing something very very simple. I also see there is a plugin to the plugin where Gravity forms has a User Registration plug-in.

Hey Rob, I would look at a membership plugin to separate your audiences. For example, s2Member (http://www.s2member.c...). As for using Gravity Forms, you can continue to do so, but I would create a custom post type for auctions and then use the Gravity Forms + Custom Post Types plugin () to submit data to your new auction post type.
