STL WordPress Meetup - Moving your site from Development to Production TAKE TWO

In March we covered setting up a local development environment to work on your site. In April we tried to cover how to move that local dev environment and move it to production. Since Bluehost was having some issues the demo did not go as planned. So let's try it again! Other topic ideas are welcome, send them my way.

This month we'll cover how to take that development site and move it into production. This would also apply to sites you're working on remotely or moving a site to a new domain.

Tentative presenters are Gregory Ray and Chris Koerner, but I'd be happy to welcome anyone else who has experience to share.

Since many folks attend with questions in-hand we want to make it easier for them to get answers. Instead of making them wait till the end of the evening to ask their questions we're going to dedicate the first 30 minutes of the evening to questions and conversation.

6pm to 6:30pm - Question and Answer time. Come to help others, ask questions, and socialize before the main event.

6:30pm to 6:45pm - Introductions and housekeeping.

6:45pm to 8pm - Main topic of the evening and presentations.

    Hi Jennifer,
I'm not sure I posted my other message to you correctly, so I'll post here as well. I may be able to help you in one way or another. I'm an experienced WP user who has built several websites professionally.

I'm not sure if this is an appropriate post here, so please delete or let me know if I am violating rules of the group. Seeking: a Wordpress developer/designer/instructor to teach beginning (and later more detailed) workshops to professional artists. I have people waiting for me to set this up, so I'd love to offer something in June.

You must be knowledgeable and work with me to develop an approach specific to artists' needs and various skill levels. This is a paying gig, but not outrageous money. I supply the space, beverages and snacks and attendees. I'd like to keep the workshops small so the artists can leave with a lot of knowledge, confidence and understanding to build and maintain their sites. I will also need someone to create web site packages and a custom theme that I can use to get artists started. I'll be at the next meetup, but please contact me before then so I can get an idea of who might be interested. Email me at [masked]
