The Southern Tier Mothers' Center was established in 1983, a nonprofit organization to serve mothers and children in Corning, Elmira, and Horseheads. The Center's purpose is to provide a welcoming place for mothers to share experiences and wisdom with one another, while strengthening bonds with their children and each other.
Our mission is to bring together local mothers to support and connect with one another in a positive, meaningful way, because we believe that mother and child need to experience events that foster friendship and nurturing in order to grow. We are open to all parents and caregivers in our community regardless of race, religion, national origin, financial status, or sexual orientation.
Membership to the Southern Tier Mothers' Center is free, though donations are appreciated.
We host playdates, support groups, discussion panels, mommy & me events, and also provide you with information about local events for mothers and children.
This site serves as our calendar of events, and all members are encouraged to join this site so they can view events and RSVP. Please visit the following sites for more information about our organization:
When you join, we ask that you provide a brief profile letting us know who you are, where you are from, and the ages of the children in your care. Please note: we do not permit members to solicit other members for their childcare businesses (e.g. do not join our group intending to ask members to let you babysit their children), but we do allow and encourage home-based childcare providers to bring their children to our activities.
