You mightr try Richard Russo's "Nobody's Fool" and "Empire Falls".  He's my absolute favorite.

Confederacy of Dunces is up there in my top 10 books I have ever enjoyed...I just bought a copy for my husband and I think he'll love it too. Did you know John Candy loved this book as well, and before he died had started negotiations to play Reilly in the book???  That woulda been a great flick, too bad.

I read The Red Tent, loved it.  Also, The Red (no pattern here) Scarf, a decent fiction about life in Russia from viewpoint of someone stuck in a work camp....  and then, sadly I got sucked into the 4 book Twilight set by my sister.  Not the best written in my opinion, but highly entertaining, and, well, I made it through four books so it couldn't suck that bad!!! Heheheheh....

Love any other recommendations people might have. Don't have anything new to read and was going to start dipping into some classics again...Madame Bovary to start. :-)

I'm Reading "Confederacy of Dunces", by John Kennedy Toole.  It's laugh out load funny. A great book.

I also picked up "The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency, by Alexander McCall. I just started that one, and so far so good.

I'll be coming down to FL soon. Hopefully I'll make a Book Club Meeting.

I'm just a little bored at work and thought I'd find out what everyone is reading. I'm past halfway through The Bonfire of the Vanities, a biography of P.G. Wodehouse (one of my favourite authors), The Snow Leopard, The Scarlet Thread (a romance that my father had to read for a Bible study group and recommended), Flatland, Indian Summer and Firmin. I also just popped The Reader on my pile and want to start that soon. I think that's about it!

How about everyone else? Anything good, bad, great?

Terri
