Beers and Board Games

This is an age 21+ event. Participants should bring any games they are interested in playing and I encourage using the message board to setup games and participants in advance. This meetup event is a great opportunity to meet the newest members of the Queen City Game Club as well as to introduce all members to new games. A selection of games will be available and feel free to bring your own favorites as well. Knowledge of the rules of a particular game is not required in advance to participate. It is assumed that the person bringing the game will need to spend some time teaching the rules to everyone else participating. The event will run approximately 3 hours.

Missed it, but instead got to learn Space Cadets (where we all died gloriously in a warp core breach) and played Munchkin, where I managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Thanks!

I am relatively new to the area and meetup.com. Also, dont know how to play that many games but always looking to learn. So if you don't mind teaching a game I shall attend. Was wondering what games you had in mind for this meet so I can look them up an read up on them a little.

I was eyeing Waterdeep at tonight's meetup so wouldn't mind a game of that

Enjoyed the game, realized on the way home that Todd ended up winning on that one point he got from Susan that "didn't matter" :). Lots of fun in losing though

Had a lot of fun playing and losing in lords of Waterdeep and then pulling out a thrilling victory in Pandemic. Look forward to seeing you all again at the next event!

I picked up the Star Trek edition of Catan but haven't tried it yet. I'll bring it in case someone wants a different spin on it :)

Our events are generally geared for the adult professionals, so as a general rule, yes. But we recognize age is an arbitrary determinant of maturity, so we can discuss more this Thursday if you all can make it. I'd also say that a number of our members have older teenagers who play games, and we've found that our members often find time outside the meetup events to play games with each other and families.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
