Basic Studio Lighting Workshop

Welcome to our Basic Lighting Workshop!

For Strobist shooters who want to learn how to use studio strobes  and modeling lights.

The best way to become familiar with the studio lighting equipment and meet other photographers :-). We will be holding this workshop at the Carriage House Studio,  in the historic DC Logan Circle area.

The skills and knowledge you obtain in this workshop will pay for themselves many times over. Participants will use their cameras with the studio lights so that they have a set of images at the end of the workshop that demonstrate the various lighting arrangements for each kind of photography.

 A. Basic lighting set up for studio photography and posing with a model for: - portraiture - fashion - glamour - fine art

B. Camera settings for synchronization

C. Use of umbrellas, soft boxes, snoot, grids, cookies and reflectors.

D. Sources and quality of light

E. Work with equipment in setting up and shooting in the four (4) different lighting arrangements described, using 1, 2 and 3 lights.

F.   Working with a live model  to produce head shots, full-length images, and fine art concepts.

Our professional model for the workshop will be the lovely Alyona, from the Ukraine.  You can see her portfolio at: /www.modelmayhem.com/2320731.

By the end of the workshop, you will be comfortable using studio lights on your own, at the Carriage House Studio or elsewhere.

Photography Friends - Sorry to be delayed in responding and the mixup on the date.. Long story, but I have been sick, and didn't have computer access yesterday. The event was at the Carriage House Studio on Tuesday. You can sign up for the next one there... Best, Paulo
