  • All day seminar which will include:

The light of creation – the forces that act on us in creation, some experiential work to balance those, and strengthen the Muhammadan light within us.
The darkness in creation – the nature of it, and a healing using Qur’anic surahs and the light prayer to protect and clear it.

Kamila Shenmen, PHd., Masters in Divinity, is a faculty member of the University of Spiritual Healing and Sufism who is coming to us from Tucson, Arizona to lead us in a day of Sufi teachings, ending with a potluck dinner and dhikr following the seminar.

Kamila has been involved with the University for many years and has recently stepped into teaching and holding the first year class. She is great with beginners and still packs a punch for old-time Sufis. She has studied much with Fawzia in Vienna, Morocco and Jerusalem and incorporates Fawzia's work seamlessly into her teachings.

The cost will be $40 for the day. If you are not working, please talk to Hakima about making other arrangements. We'd like everyone to be able to attend.

The teachings will start at 9:30 with registration beginning at 9am. There will be a lunch break during which time you can go out to eat or bring your own and eat in. If you choose not to attend the day's seminar you are still welcome to attend dinner and/or dhikr afterwards. Dinner is a potluck so please bring a dish to share.

I am possibly interested in coming to this. I would be driving down from Ojai, which is about 3 hours and may need to bring my dog. Does anyone know if there is shaded parking near the house, so I could leave him in my car and come out to check up on him now and again? Just trying to get a pulse of the situation to see if I can make it. Thanks all :) Arin Hamdah

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
