March Meeting: Sunnyvale Climate Action Plan (CAP)

Gerri Caruso, AICP, Principal Planner with the City of Sunnyvale. Gerri has been with Sunnyvale for over 21 years and has spent more than 25 years in the field of City Planning both in the public and private sector. For the last three years, Gerri has worked on Horizon 2035, the City of Sunnyvale’s effort to create a Climate Action Plan and update its Land Use and Transportation chapter of the Sunnyvale General Plan. Gerri will be discussing the proposed Sunnyvale Climate Action Plan (CAP). She will provide some state and local legislative history, discuss the purpose of the CAP to reduce local Greenhouse Gas Emissions(GHG) and explain how the review and hearing process will unfold. She will also hi-light some of the GHG reduction measures that Sunnyvale citizens may be participating in or observing in the near future if the CAP is adopted. The original draft of the CAP is available at There is a tab on the right side of the web page that will take you to the document. You may wish to read the Executive Summary ahead of time. We hope to see you all on March 15th. If you can bring a snack item to share we would be deeply grateful.
