Subject: [sushi-121] Tonight
Tonight was an embarrassment to our group. There were 20 reserved and 25% failed to show up. Yes, 5 people didn't made it and with this event having a LIMITATION of 20 people, a number of our members dropped off from the Waiting list. Some of those could have come and might have if those 5 people had been courteous enough to change their RSVP's with enough time to allow others to respond.
It was also a personal embarrassment to me since I tried to increase our number with Shogun, was declined due to space, and ultimately the tables they saved for us were not filled.
There is only one rule of this meetup group. If you no-show three times you will be asked to leave Sushi Meetup.
The restaurants order food based on the numbers we give them. The waiters are assigned to the tables based on the numbers we give them. If we fall short, the restaurant has more food than they need and the waiters have fewer tips than they would have received if fewer waiters were assigned based on the ACTUAL numbers attending.
I get the discounts and deals from the restaurants by treating them with the same respect I would expect. I can't do this without your help. Please be more attentive in the future.
Please Note: If you hit "REPLY", your message will be sent to everyone on this mailing list ([address removed])
